779 15th Ave Menlo Park

Although this was a remodel addition, this project was as close as one gets to be a new construction. Why? The only thing we kept was the wall which was adjacent to the neighbors and a section of the foundation. We transformed thisĀ 2 bedrooms and 1 bath into a 3 beds and 2 bath home with all the modern amenities.

Design Elements:

Skylights to bring in natural light in the kitchen and bathrooms. This was because the wall next to the neighbor required a special fire rated window which would have cost about $3000 per window. I love windows when their is a view. Adding a window would have had a view of the neighbor’s wall which is not appealing.

Open Common Area:

The living, dining and the kitchen are all interconnected. This connectedness makes it idea for having all your friends and family over as a great place for conversations over a wine dinner.

Private Retreat:

The master bedroom opens up to a private retreat which allows one to read a book or simply lounge on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Who can resist going out and napping on a hammock.
